Reo Immersion Hui - Urenui

Reo Wānanga

August 2014

Saturday 23 August – Wednesday 27 August

Urenui Marae, Urenui, Taranaki

Kiaora to all our Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri Tāne, Wahine, Tamariki katōa

Thrilled to announce we are having our first reo immersion hui at Urenui marae the kainga tuturu mo Ngāti Mutunga.

Te Reo o Taranaki will run the hui for us. A programme for the weekend is in development.

Whānau, the Iwi Trust has some funding support available for those who wish to travel – particularly for our Wharekauri based Iwi who would otherwise be prevented because of the ‘tyranny of costs’. The funding distribution is dependent on numbers who register interest to attend.

Please let Jo Clark know by registering your interest to travel to Urenui. It would be great if we could have an indication by the 8th of August so we can allocate travel funding accordingly.

Do we stay at the marae?

What materials do we need?
Your hinengaro and wairua first. Our tutors suggest the following:
  • Williams, H.W. – Dictionary of the Maori Language
  • Ryan, P.M – Dictionary of Modern Maori
  • Ringbinder
  • 2 x 1B5 exercise books
  • Pens

Do I need to register?
The most important thing is that you come. That said, the registration process helps us to ensure we cater and fund properly. So let Jo Clark at the Iwi Trust office know that you are at least considering coming by phoning (03) 3050500 or e-mail: iwitrust@nmow.iwi.nz

So, nau mai haere mai tātou katoa and see you all there.
